Güd Marketing is thrilled by the recognition we received in partnership with our clients from our peers at this year’s PACE Awards.
The Central Michigan Public Relations Society’s PACE Awards are Mid-Michigan’s highest honor in public relations work, and they allow public relations practitioners to celebrate the work they have done over the past year.
They’re also an opportunity for everyone who works in this industry to reflect on the impact they make every day in raising awareness of important issues that affect people’s lives.
The awards are granted to public relations practitioners who have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. Categories for submission vary from crisis communications to brochures and magazines.
At Güd Marketing, we support organizations that strive to create strong, healthy communities. Partners that we have worked with this year who were recognized at this year’s PACE Awards include the Michigan 2020 Census team; the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; the Michigan Wildlife Council; and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO).
We are honored to have won 12 awards overall, including nine best-in-category Pinnacle Awards. We also took Best of Show honors, which is awarded to the highest-scoring campaign as determined by an out-of-state panel of judges, with our partners at LEO for helping raise awareness of Futures for Frontliners. The program provides free college tuition for Michiganders without college degrees who worked in essential industries during the state’s COVID-19 shutdown from April 1-June 30, 2020. Over 120,000 frontline workers have applied to receive tuition-free access to local community colleges to pursue an associate degree or skills certificate.
Here’s the full list of work performed with our clients in 2020 that was recognized with a PACE Award:

“It’s certainly gratifying as an agency to receive recognition from others in the industry,” said Güd Marketing Principal Deborah Horak. “But the real satisfaction comes from knowing that our work had an impact on people’s lives, whether it was helping them secure college tuition to build their futures, aiding Michigan’s environment and economy by promoting proper recycling practices or helping to ensure full federal funding for various essential programs by encouraging U.S. census participation.”
After the turbulent year that was 2020, we look forward to continued growth, success and – in partnership with our clients – making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
